Principal: Matt Ribblett's Message
Dear Trojan Families,
It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the school year. I am deeply honored to be returning as the assistant principal at the Greater Johnstown Middle School with its long history of Pride and Tradition. I will work hard to continue the progress that we made last year, and build a strong future for our students. I am committed to working in a partnership with Mr. Cordek, students, parents, teachers, and staff to nurture the academic, social and emotional development of each of our students.
I am thrilled and privileged to be back for my second year at JMS. I have 8 years of educational experience spanning grades 3-8. Prior to my administrative career at DMCA, and coming home to GJSD, I taught 3rd grade at DMCA. I also taught grades 4-8 at St. Andrews School before the Diocese created Divine Mercy.
On a personal note, my wife Tara teaches Kindergarten at Johnstown Elementary School. I am also a 2001 graduate of Johnstown High School. My wife and I are the proud parents of two children Becky and Matt. Becky is currently attending UPJ with a Major in Psychology and is also on the Cheerleading squad. Our son Matthew, is currently a Senior in high school and plays hockey. They are our pride and joy and make me smile every single day. Rest assured your children are in good hands as I will always keep their best interests in mind, just as I would for my own two children. I always say that I want to be the educator/administrator that I would want my own children to have.
I am passionate, energetic, and love what I do! As we continue to encourage families to be partners in the educational process, my door will always be open. I look forward to my second year as an administrator in the district and focusing on the success of each and every student.
Warmest regards,
Matt Ribblett
