Forensics
The JMS Forensic team is a competitive public speaking team that competes in the Five County Junior High Forensics League during the fall season. Students in grade 7-9 can participate in categories such as Prose and Poetry Reading, Dramatic Interpretation, and Persuasive, Informative, and Impromptu Speaking. Weekly practices are held after school with Mrs. Vasilko, the team coach. Public speaking is a very important skill to gain for school, college, and for life, and participating on the forensic team is a fun way to practice that skill. Also, we do not have a drama club here at JMS, so forensics is an outlet for those who like to perform. Joining the forensics team is a great way to be involved and to represent our school competitively while meeting new friends from all around.
